Alfred H. Ackley

The younger brother of the gospel composer B. D. Ackley, he learned music from his father and studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1914, he served churches in Pennsylvania and California. He also worked alongside evangelist Billy Sunday and song leader Homer Rodeheaver, and wrote around 1,500 hymns.
