Cyril V. Taylor

1907–1991 · Wigan, Lancashire · England

Ordained in the Church of England in 1932, he worked as both pastor and musician, producing religious broadcasts for the BBC through the war years and later serving as chaplain of the Royal School of Church Music. He edited the BBC Hymn Book of 1951 and wrote twenty of its tunes. His last post was precentor of Salisbury Cathedral.
