Ernest W. Olson

1870–1958 · Skåne · Sweden

Born in Skåne, Sweden, he came to Nebraska as a child and later settled near Chicago, where he edited Swedish-American newspapers and then worked for the Augustana Book Concern for nearly forty years. He gave the Augustana Synod's 1925 Hymnal four original hymns and 28 translations, and sat on the committee behind the 1958 Service Book and Hymnal.
