George Henry Day
1883–1966
A choirboy at Trinity Chapel in New York, he kept his day job as an assistant auditor at Gorham Manufacturing for two years after becoming choirmaster at St. Peter's in Chelsea Square in 1911. He graduated from the New York College of Music in 1915, then served churches in Ohio and Delaware before a post in Rochester and a return to Trinity Church.
