George Job Elvey

A boy chorister at Canterbury Cathedral, he studied at Oxford and the Royal Academy of Music. At nineteen he became organist of St. George's Chapel, Windsor, a post he held for nearly fifty years. He was knighted after providing the music for Princess Louise's wedding in 1871.
