Henry Williams Baker

Eldest son of an admiral, Baker became vicar of Monkland in Herefordshire in 1851, the same year he inherited his father's baronetcy, and kept the parish until his death. He was the working editor of Hymns Ancient and Modern from its first edition in 1861. His last audible words were a stanza of his own paraphrase of Psalm 23, The King of Love My Shepherd Is.
