Jane Marshall

1924–2019 · Dallas, Texas · United States

A Dallas native, she was already composing as a teenager while playing piano and organ. After a music degree from Southern Methodist University she wrote more than 200 hymns and sacred pieces, then returned for a master's in choral conducting. For 35 years she taught church music at SMU's Perkins School of Theology and worshiped at a United Methodist congregation in her home city.
