Ludvig M. Lindeman

For 48 years he was organist and cantor of Oslo Cathedral, a post he took over from his brother in 1839. Alongside that work he collected more than 3,000 Norwegian folk melodies and, with his son, opened an organist school in Oslo. His tune Kirken den er et gammelt Hus carries Built on the Rock.
