Composer
Martin Shaw
1875–1958
Trained at the Royal College of Music, Shaw served as organist at St. Mary's, Primrose Hill, and later at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London. With Percy Dearmer and Ralph Vaughan Williams he edited Songs of Praise and the Oxford Book of Carols, and he pushed hard to reform English church music. Royal Oak and Riley are among his tunes.
