Author
Nicholas Brady
1659–1726 · Bandon · Ireland
The son of a Royalist officer, Brady was born in Ireland and educated at Westminster and Oxford before taking his degree at Trinity College, Dublin. After years in parish ministry he retired to Richmond in Surrey and opened a school. There he worked with Nahum Tate on a metrical psalter, authorized by King William in 1696, that displaced the older Sternhold and Hopkins version.
