Vicar of St. Mary the Virgin, Primrose Hill, from 1901, Dearmer wrote The Parson's Handbook and served for years as secretary of the London Christian Social Union. He was secretary and editor of the English Hymnal of 1906, contributing ten translations of his own to it.
