R. Birch Hoyle

1875–1939 · Cloughfold, Lancashire · England

A Baptist minister trained at Regent's Park College, Hoyle held pastorates in Aberdeen and London before editing the YMCA's Red Triangle magazine. He spent two years teaching theology in Pittsburgh, then returned to a Baptist pulpit at Kingston-on-Thames. Some of his translations appeared in the student hymnal Cantate Domino.
