Robert Harkness

1880–1961

After hearing the evangelists Reuben Torrey and Charles Alexander at a revival, he became Alexander's pianist and was converted soon after, while riding a bicycle, as he liked to say. He toured the world several times with the pair. In later years he taught hymn playing by correspondence and wrote more than 2,000 hymns and gospel songs.
