Robert Jackson

Trained at the Royal Academy of Music, he held a London organ post only briefly before returning to his home town of Oldham. There he was organist at St. Peter's Church for 46 years, following his father, who had held the same bench for 48 years before him. He also conducted two local choral societies and wrote the tune Trentham.
