Composer
T. Tertius Noble
1867–1953 · Bath · England
He was organist at Ely Cathedral and then at York Minster, where he founded a symphony orchestra and revived the city's music festival after a gap of 75 years. In 1913 he crossed to New York as organist of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and set up its choir school. He edited the 1916 Episcopal hymnal, and his tune Ely Cathedral recalls his early post.
